We build software for people who've lost patience with the industry's assumptions.

What we build and why

pragmaticbim

Know what data your project needs

Everyone else writes ISO documents nobody uses.

abstractbim

Get clean data from every model

Everyone else wants you to model more detailed.

iterthink

Catch every silent rewrite

Chatbots skim and sound confident.

yourcompanyos

Make work flow through BPMN

Everyone else sells software for one problem.

The team

Every tool abstract builds starts from a disagreement. Not with a competitor — with a consensus assumption the industry treats as settled. We've found four of those so far.

Simon Dilhas

Simon Dilhas

Co-Founder & CEO

Architect by training. Widely known in the AEC community as the BIM Pirate — which tells you something about how he approaches the industry's sacred cows. Simon spent years inside complex projects watching good data get created and then destroyed by the handover process. Instead of accepting that, he started automating his way out. abstract is what that looks like at scale.

Ralph Bärtschi

Ralph Bärtschi

Co-Founder & CTO

Physicist and mathematician at the core. Ralph designs the deep technical architecture powering the abstract product family — turning spatial problems where geometry meets data science into production-grade algorithms. He's the reason abstract's contrarian positions are actually buildable.

abstract ag is a Swiss AEC software company based in Basel. We build tools for architects, engineers, and real estate owners who've stopped waiting for the big platforms to solve their data problems.

Each abstract product takes a category where the industry has converged on a bad answer and builds toward a better one. Smaller models. Checkable contracts. Visible AI. Deterministic processes.

We're a small team. We intend to stay that way.
